When a leading international insurance company began reimagining its workplaces, the scope was anything but small. With a headquarters in Chicago and offices across more than 20 states, as well as Bermuda, the goal was to create a consistent, modern collaboration experience across a highly distributed footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These weren\u2019t simple upgrades. They were full-scale, multi-floor renovations designed to support everything from small team meetings to high-stakes, client-facing presentations.<\/p>\n\n\n

To execute this vision, the organization partnered with AV Innovative Design, who led the design and deployment of AV systems across the project. SCT supported these efforts by providing table and device extension solutions in key areas where simplicity and reliability were critical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Challenge <\/strong>Designing for consistency at this scale came with real complexity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spaces ranged from executive boardrooms to divisible training environments and multipurpose rooms, many requiring multiple cameras, long-distance signal extension, and flexible configurations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Training rooms needed to scale from small meetings to four-way divisible spaces with up to eight camera combinations<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Boardrooms included advanced setups with extensive camera systems and connections routed across hallways<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Client-facing \u201cClient-Facing Rooms\u201d demanded clean aesthetics with zero tolerance for technical issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
In high-visibility environments like the Chicago headquarters, the expectation was clear: the technology had to work every time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Approach <\/strong>AV Innovative Design designed a flexible, standardized AV ecosystem, incorporating SCT where simplicity made the biggest impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RTK-PLUS, RTK-MINI, RC5, and RC8 solutions enabled HDMI\u00ae<\/sup> and USB extension over a single cable, reducing cabling and streamlining installs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cClient-Facing Rooms\u201d (client-facing spaces) <\/strong>RTK-PLUS was used to extend HDMI\u00ae<\/sup>, USB and power from the table to in-room equipment over a single CAT cable, enabling clean, uncluttered table designs without sacrificing performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
Boardrooms (high-complexity environments) <\/strong>RTK-MINI supported table-to-IDF connectivity across hallways, handling long-distance runs in spaces with advanced setups, including One Beyond systems with up to 13 cameras.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
Divisible training rooms (flexible, camera-heavy spaces) <\/strong>RC8 was deployed for Cisco Quad Camera extension, while RC5 supported PTZ cameras, enabling scalable configurations that adapt from small meetings to large, multi-room setups.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
