The RemoteCam2™ Camera extension kits offer a cost and time saving alternative to integrating high definition PTZ cameras into a wide variety of presentation spaces. These kits deliver:
All this over two standard Cat5e or Cat6 cables up to 300'! This revolutionary interface provides a simple button press cable calibration to completely compensate for typical video-over-Cat5 degradation. This new technique automatically adjusts Gain, EQ and Skew with the simple push of a button. No more dip switched or pots to twiddle! Standard Cat5e or Cat6 is used, eliminating the need for low-skew or no-skew cable to further help control cost. Standard UTP-568A or UTP-568B wiring is used so there's no learning curve. Traditional Cat5 cable testers can be used to check all wiring prior to connecting up the RC2™ electronics. These kits provides a reliable high quality image and creates an "invisible" link between the camera and head end. |

At the camera end of the loop a clean metal enclosure provides safe and secure cable management and clear differentiation over interfaces. A clearly marked Red location for the power Cat5 helps installers quickly identify correct wiring ports. On the camera cable side, latching cables are available with the kits for quick, clean and very reliable connections. Mounting holes are provided on the side of the camera module for flexibility in mounting options. These 6x32 threaded holes are 1" apart on the centerline of the enclosure. This allows Integrators complete freedom for their mounting options. The RemoteCam2™ camera interface module comes with an SCT proprietary pre-installed "power sniffer" to help installers quickly and reliably identify the correct cable for powering the module. Both UTP Link RJ-45 jacks are occupied by simple interference jacks with the "Sniffer™" attached via a short wire. After testing the UTP cables for correct wiring simply connect the Power Cat5 at the head end then plug into the Sniffer™ at the camera end. Three Green LED's indicate the correct cable for Power has been identified. |
|||
|
Remove the Sniffer™ RJ-45 plug from the Red Power RJ-45 location
on the camera end module and
replace it with the correctly identified cable. This simple step will help installers quickly and reliably differentiate between similar looking cables and make for a smooth installation. |

At the head end, a rack mountable enclosure provides clean and easy termination points for the UTP wiring, video, control, camera control loop (VISCA) and power for the local electronics, camera electronics and the camera. Once the kit is fully installed simply pressing the "Cable Adapt" button will automatically adjust the electronics to compensate for Gain, Skew and EQ required to provide a high quality image. |
